Matthew 5:23-24 says

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

 

1.There are times in our lives when we trample over people’s feet. We may not have realized that we did, but the person who we trampled over is left hurt and angered. If we are the person who has been trampled upon, we should not hold our grudges but rather go and confront our fault to that person. We should not be so concerned about the time and the place in which the incidence occurred to the point where we feel that we should not apologize. Many times, the person may not confront you right away and may wait until a later occasion to bring up the incidence. At this time you may have forgotten or never even noticed that you had done the person wrong. The fact is this, for the person to be so compelled that they need to confront you means that it must be affecting them on some level. As Christians we should  truly and sincerely apologize and ask Jesus to manifest his character in us fully so that we are more careful in our actions and words. If a friend is acting out of character towards us, we should find out if we have wronged them in any way. God wants us to live peacefully with all mankind.

 

2. “”Do not attempt to bring any offering to God while thou art in a spirit of enmity against any person; or hast any difference with thy neighbor, which thou hast not used thy diligence to get adjusted.” It is our duty and interest, both to bring our gift, and offer it too; but God will not accept of any act of religious worship from us, while any enmity subsists in our hearts towards any soul of man; or while any subsists in our neighbor’s heart towards us, which we have not used the proper means to remove. A religion, the very essence of which is love, cannot suffer at its altars a heart that is revengeful and uncharitable, or which does not use its utmost endeavors to revive love in the heart of another.” says

We should therefore do our utmost to enter into the sabbath with a clean heart. We should practice making things right weekly if not daily.I leave you with this last verse…

 

Leviticus 19:18

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

 

God loves you and so do I.
